About Me

Decatur, Georgia native, Dan Hall (aka Decatur Dan), is an acclaimed music video director, and founder of the Los Angeles based creative agency, Where It’s Greater.

A self-taught photographer and filmmaker, Hall’s career began when, while still in college, he was hand-picked by Young Jeezy to be the rapper’s full-time content creator. Hall’s work for Jeezy caught the attention of a number of other southern rap luminaries, and in a just few short years, he became one of the most in-demand directors in the south, making music videos for everyone from 2 Chainz, to Future, to T-Pain. His video for B.o.B’s song, “We Still In This,” received a BET Video of the Year nomination.

Not long after, hall was contacted by NIKE, who had seen the then 26 year old’s music videos, and wanted him to produce content for them as well. Utilizing the many lessons he learned, and techniques he honed, directing high production value videos with tight budgets, and even tighter deadlines, Hall quickly became a prefered vendor for the brand, and their partnership – and the increased workload that came with it – led him to relocate to Los Angeles.

Shortly after arriving in LA, Hall set-up his own multidisciplinary production company, Where it’s Greater (a play on the adage of his hometown, “Decatur, Where It’s Greater”). A platform for Hall’s technical know-how, artistic vision, client-centric approach, and by-any-means-necessary work ethic, Where It’s Greater swiftly made a name for itself in the Los Angeles creative world, landing long-term contracts with Beats By Dre and MeUndies, as well as numerous up-and-coming brands.

Always looking for ways to push his work forward, Hall has continued to expand Where It’s Greater’s production capabilities, moving into a 4000 square foot studio space in Mid-City, and purchasing a high speed robotic arm by Mark Roberts Motion Control. Despite all he’s been able to accomplish, however, Hall refuses to rest on his laurels. For him, each professional achievement isn’t an end, but rather, another step forward* for him and his company.

Potential Quote if we want to insert anywhere (but needs to be refined): “Alot of ppl know me for my work from 3-4 years ago. Some know me for my recent work. I know me for the work I’m capable of in the future.”
